When you ask me, "Are any good,
Lines of my poetry?",
I say, "O' heartmate be assured,
You've writ them superbly."
"To heart, like waterfalls they are,
To ears, a melody,
To eyes, alike a beamful star,
To soul, an ecstasy."
But you rebut and say I lie
Taking Love's biased ways,
That true assessment I deny,
Give far too hollow praise.
But tell me whether I am wrong
If beauty's all I find
In your sweet strophes that like a song
Engulfs within my mind.
And if at all, a verse, perchance
Not in perfection lies,
I still would let my praises dance
Than sharp-critiquing eyes
For, do all lovers this not say
"My girl the fairest be!
Though imperfections all have may,
She is perfect to me"?
