To A Disheartened Poet

Raise not a voice if you can't get in
Mid literati's sphere,
Raise not a voice if they don't let in
And on your labour sleer.
Show not your wrath if they neglect you
And tell short is your skill,
Throw not your lines for they reflect you
Be achored to them still.
But rather be like Dickinson, who,
Did not from her words turn,
Be like passional Chatterton too
Whose greatness now we learn.
Be them not who strive to fitment hold,
Their verses soon will fade,
Revere your truth, it's worth manyfold
Through lifetimes 'twill pervade.
